 Women's Ministries "Women are an influential force in the church. They cradle the future and shape the present with their attitudes and actions toward themselves, family, friends, and fellow church people. When women are ministered to, the church, family, and community are ministered to as well." (How to Start a Women’s Ministry Program, Appx D) Welcome! The Piedmont Park Women's Ministries Committee is here to serve you by planning and implementing programs, activities, and projects especially for women. This committee consists of women ages 14-60+. The committee leader is Belinda Thornton. If you have a special ministry idea or burden for women, we would love to hear about it. Piedmont Park Women’s Ministries Objectives: • Inspire, challenge, and affirm women as they use their gifts to serve in varied roles in the family, church, and community. • Offer opportunities for Christian fellowship that builds goodwill among women, facilitating friendships, networking, and support systems that uphold and promote Christian values/beliefs throughout life’s journey. • Equip women via important and relevant information, resources, and experiences that facilitate spiritual development and renewal, physical and emotional health and wellness, improved family and general relationship skills, effective coping skills during life changes and personal growth. • Encourage, strengthen, and support the family unit--which is so important to God and women. Upcoming Events/Programs: Women's Fellowship, Monday, May 18th 6:45-8:15pm (Notice that this is the 3rd Monday instead of the 4th because the 4th happens to be Memorial Day). Have you ever felt like your healthcare situation was unique and/or different than other people's experiences? Have you been in a situation where you were misdiagnosed or where diagnosis was delayed? Then, you will want to join us for this month's Women's Fellowship, as we view the Women's DVD presentation from the Keeping the Faith series entitled "Healthcare Disparities" with Dr Diana Broomfield and guest Katrina Darrett sharing their expertise and personal experiences about incongruities in healthcare. Enjoy this time of learning, sharing, fellowship, praying, singing... with your Piedmont sisters, This is the final Women's Fellowship prior to the summer break. Single Moms and Kids Retreat! Held at Broken Arrow Ranch, June 18-21, 2009. Speaker will be Shelley L. Bartel-Fenton, who uses the acrostic RETREAT for inspiring and pertinent presentations throughout the weekend. Cost is $35 per mom, plus $10 fo reach child. Registration deadline is June 15. Guest Speakers are Carla Gober, Dr. Monica Reed, Elizabeth Talbot, and Pastor Hyveth Williams.
